Jefa de departamento de Inglés
Mi nombre es Rebecca Charlton-Yates y tengo 31 años. Soy licenciada en Traducción e Interpretación y tengo además el Máster en Educación Secundaria.
Soy profesora de secundaria y preparadora de los exámenes oficiales de Cambridge. He enseñado inglés a niños y adultos en España y Alemania desde 2007 con un cien por cien de aprobados. Me encanta mi trabajo y me encanta sobre todo ver el cambio que pueda dar en las vidas de los demás.
Llevo enseñando de incluso antes de acabar la carrera y he dedicado mi vida a ello desde entonces. Como inglesa que soy he tenido siempre curiosidad e interés por los idiomas y de cómo enseñar y aprender.
Soy británica, del sur-oeste de Inglaterra, nacida en una ciudad llamada Reading. Con 14 años vine a España, a Alhaurín el Grande a vivir. He estado unos años viviendo en Alemania, pero Málaga siempre será Málaga.
Como consecuencia, habiendo venido a España sin conocimientos de castellano, comprendo plenamente las dificultades que supone el aprendizaje de un segundo idioma y además de ello soy partidaria de que la mejor manera de adquirir una lengua es a través de su uso, sobre todo a nivel hablado.
En conclusión, como estudiante de idiomas que soy y a través de mi experiencia en la enseñanza, creo que dentro de mis objetivos principales para nuestros alumnos están la comprensión y una comunicación exitosa. Y eso es lo que pretendemos conseguir en La vie en langues.

London of the Swinging Sixties, England were about to win the world cup, The Rolling Stones were number one in the charts and mini skirts were getting shorter and I entered the world on a beautiful Thursday morning in September.
After surviving South East London schools, the multi racial tensions of the late 70´s and 80´s and the terraces of Crystal palace Football Club, I emerged from the education system and started a steady stream of work and life experiences, the highlights of which are, working at Selfridges in London, being the youngest driver, in service, for London Buses (a picture of which is on the wall at the academy), going to France for a weeks holiday and returning a year later, being an extra in TV programmes such as The Bill, Eastenders, Crocodile Shoes and The Lenny Henry Show, appearing on stage in Oliver!, Sweeney Todd and with artists such as Eddie Izzard and Jo Brand.
I became an English teacher after encouragement from friends who are teachers and haven’t looked back since. In all my working years I have never felt so much job satisfaction as I do now.

- focus on developing speaking skills: less teacher talking time, more student talking time
- applying communicative approach: eliciting instead of explaining
- monitoring students during pair or group work and grading the language so the lower level students would understand
